Diamonds are... Oh No! Shoes are a girl's best friend!

Every now and then, my mom is complaining that I own way to many shoes! I can't help it, mom! Shoes are ... like diamonds! They've got a certain magic!

A girl once said to me: "Your shoes define you!" And it's true. They can tell you what kind of person you are.
It can also ruin a whole outfit, if you're not wearing the right ones!

I actually don't wanna know how many pairs I have in my closet... One thing I do know for sure, is that I need a few more before summer starts! ;)

Taylor Swift - Safe And Sound (The Hunger Games Soundtrack)

They say that 'The Hunger Games' will be the next new Twilight! To be very honest with you, I never heard of the books before... And when I saw the trailer, I was a little confused what the movie is about?
Taylor Swift produced the soundtrack for this movie. I like the song, but I think I can get bored with it very quickly... She released the video for this song last night. I love the video... In a way, it reminds me of Birdy's 'Skinny Love'.

'The Hunger Games' will be in theaters 21th March.

Where Do Broken Hearts Go, Whitney?

I bet you've read a thousand articles already about the tragic death of Whitney Houston... And here's another one, a tribute to her... Because she was a legende! And I'm not saying that because everyone else is, but I just really think she is... I was a fan since I was a little girl!

I think I was 10 years old, when I saw the Prince Of Egypt in theaters. When Whitney and Mariah released the soundtrack for this movie, I just had to have it... I had a little piggy bank and took all the money that I had just to buy the CD!

When I was little, my dad took me to the library a lot ... He always wanted me to loan books to read, instead I always took Whitney's CD's! I was addicted to this CD you can see on the picture...

Last night when I heard the news, I was really in shock, like so many other people...

You will be missed dear Whitney... I hope you'll be happy on the other side...

The Help

And the Oscar goes to.... The Help! I hope so, because this movie was só good! I went to see it with Krizia, but I didn't know what to expect. I considered buying the book, but I still had a lot of unread books left on my bookshelf...
The movie is about a young author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s who decides to write a book detailing the African-American maid's point of view on the white families for which they work. It's a funny movie, but still very emotional at the same time! You just have to see it!

Emma Stone's got the leading role in this movie. I knew who she was because of her style, but not as an actress. The girl can act!
Another thing I like about this movie is the clothing style of the 1960s. So many cute dresses! I want them all!

I was doing some shopping last week at our local shop with beauty products... I can't help passing the Essence section without stopping for a quick look! Something caught my eye immediately... the new CrystallIced line! It was hard for me not to buy everything... but I left the store with two new nail polishes! Check it out!

Florence & The Machine - No Light, No Light

Ohhh there's something about this girl: Florence Welch! The red hair, her style ... and of course the music!
There's a lot of controversy about this next video. Many people debated on the band's YouTube Channel, claiming the video references the Illuminati and Satan worship. I must say it's different, but not shocking! :) And it's all about the music, not the video...

L'Occitane: Cherry Blossom Eau De Toilette

Last year they opened a l'Occitane store at Maasmechelen Village. To be very honest with you, I never heard about the brand... Shame on me! In every big city and in most American malls you can find a l'Occitane store! I know their products can be a little expensive but I guess they're pretty good...

A couple of months ago I tried a frangrance at the store: Cherry Blossom. It's very hard for me to find the right fragrance, because most of the time the smell is way too strong.... But this one was just perfect! Light and sweet! For some reason I didn't buy it... until last weekend!

The smell of blossom makes me long for spring! Mmmm...

Owning one of these babies is every fashionista's dream! One little problem... the pricetag! Thank God that some websites offer look-alike rings! Like for example my new ring! It's on sale now for $18 at Coal N Terry Vintage...  I already received my package after 4 days!

Sales Part II

So as I said earlier, I went shopping in Hasselt last Wednesday. A very short trip, because it was way to crowded for me! I just went into the shops I usually visit: Bershka, Zara, America Today ... and that's it! So it's no surprise that I didn't spend a lot of money! I only bought these two items:

What's the first thing that pops into your mind when you hear the word "sale"? SHOPPING TIME! Sales started today in Belgium ... I had to work today, but after I was done, I just had to go and shop! I went to some local shops like H&M, Vero Moda, Pimkie, Avance, ... I think I might go to Hasselt tomorrow to even do some more shopping! ;)

These T-shirts are on sale at Pimkie. Just a few basic shirt that I can wear during summer and winter!

Bye bye 2011... Hello 2012!

First of all, happy new year everyone! I wish you a fabulous 2012!
I bet you've seen a thousand different reports the last couple of days about things that happened in 2011... And here's another one! What are the most memorable things to you that happened in the past year?

For me, the year has gone by so fast... I started this blog in April. I'm very pleased that I did because I got to meet some very nice people and got the chance to do some wonderful things! Like for example these events:

These are just a few of so many lovely events!

Next are holidays! My New Year's resolution of 2011 was to go on as many citytrips as possible! ;) I went to London, Paris, Barcelona ... and two little cities in Greece, Rethymnon and Chania...

You might have noticed that I like going to concert and discover all kind of new music!

I've been to a few concerts this year: Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Rihanna...
I think my favorite was definitely Taylor, although Rihanna really surprised me too!

So many songs, so hard to choose which one is the best of 2011 to me... Skyscraper by Demi Lovato, Shake it off by Florence and the Machine, Last Friday Night by Katy Perry, Monster by Paramore... It goes on and on....
The best movie? My top 3 is The Hangover, Water For Elephants and Red Riding Hood!

Some other memorable things that happened and got to me...

- The death of Amy Winehouse, Steve Jobs, Elizabeth Taylor -

- The disaster at Pukkelpop in Belgium. There was a huge storm during a big festival, 5 people died that day... A lot of my friends were at the festival -

- Norwegian attacks where 69 got killed -

- Crises in Greece and all over the world -

....

I know the last list isn't happy news... Unfortunatley it happened!

Well I hope I can write a lot of good news next year! ;)

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

My first thought when I saw this lady: "Wow her plastic surgeon must be her best friend!" Her previous song 'Videogames' was "OK". Now she's back with 'Born To Die', and personally I think this song is so much better! There's something about this video... different but I love it! The guy with the tattoos is so cute!
I wonder what kind of lipstick she's wearing... I've been searching for ages for a color like that! Does anyone know where I can find one like this?

Ahh Christmas! Don't you just love it? I know Christmas is over and a new year is already knocking at the door! 2012... wow time goes by so fast!
So how was your Christmas? Did Santa bring you what you wanted?
Well I had a lovely Christmas with my family and friends! Santa brought me some nice, little gifts! ;)

Gossip Girl: ‘Riding In Town Cars With Boys'

Ah I love Tuesdays! Every time I'm so thrilled to see Gossip Girl! After I saw this week's episode, I found out that I still have to wait at least a month to see what happens next! Oh my god, what a cliffhanger! We finally got what we've been waiting for, but will Chuck survive? He has to, right? But who's behind the accident? Jack or Louis? Do you think Serena and Dan will ever end up together again?

The Beginning Of The End Of AIDS!

You might have heard about it on the news a couple of days ago... It's been 20 years since Freddie Mercury died just one day after he announced he had AIDS. So sad...
Tomorrow, December 1st, it's the annual World AIDS Day! This day is dedicated to raising awareness of the disease. The illness interferes with the immune system making people with AIDS much more likely to get infections, including opportunistic infections and tumors that do not affect people with working immune systems. This susceptibility gets worse as the disease continues.

I remember, almost 10 years ago, I was watching MTV and Alicia Keys was at the Staying Alive Concert in South-Africa. They interviewed a few women who had to struggle with the disease. I was only 15, but I didn't really know what AIDS was and got so emotional! From that day on I always wanted to help in a way...

AIDS isn't just a problem in Africa, it's spreading all over the world! In 2009, the World Health Organization estimated that there are 33.4 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS, with 2.7 million new HIV infections per year and 2 million annual deaths due to AIDS.

So what can we do?
You can attent the events they organize around the globe... or buy things to help people who have AIDS!
Like for example Join(RED). They offer some lovely things and at the same time you can support them!
I once bought an iPod in a limited edition and I adored it! I also bought the Shazam app and I use it almost every day! It's all worth the money!

What's all the fuss about: Rihanna's 'We Found Love'

I know this video is a little 'old', but I was reading the newspaper yesterday and I bumped into this article about Rihanna's 'We Found Love' video.
In France the video is forbidden on TV before 10 p.m.! When I first saw the video, my reaction was: "Wow, this is extreme but awesome!" I know that sex, drugs and rock 'n roll shouldn't be 'promoted' by a role model, but in a way I think this is diffirent!
I just love everything about this video!
What do you think about it?

Opening UGG Store at Maasmechelen Village

A few days ago I received a letter from Maasmechelen Village and an email from Ooana if I wanted to join them at the opening of the new UGG store at Maasmechelen Village. I did a little dance when I received this because I was só happy!
I don't know why, but for some reason, I still didn't own a pair of UGG boots! I considered it so many times but it's quite an amount of money to spend... But thanks to Maasmechelen Village and UGG, it's not a problem anymore!
Today they opened a brand new UGG Hut, where they sell collections, older than 6 months with at least a 30% discount! Unfortunately the store will be open untill the end of March 2012. So if you want to get your hands on a pair of these boots, you have to hurry! ;) There were só many people waiting in line as you can see on the picture below!

The store was cosy but still very modern at the same time! I loved loved loved the pictures hanging on the wall! In my opinion, UGG creates so many beautiful advertising pictures!
I didn't have the chance to get a good look at the whole store because it was so crowded! Total madness as you can see on the following pictures....

I didn't expect so many different kind of boots! They offered a big collection for women, men and kids in different shapes and colors.

So what kind of boots did I get?

I always wanted to buy a classic pair of short or high, chestnut boots! But then I fell in love with these ones with a flowerprint! Simple but still very nice!

And the addiction continues... Every Tuesday it's Gossip-Girl-Tuesday! And oh boy, I can't wait until next Tuesday! The story goes on and on... who will Blair choose? Her prince, Chuck or Lonely Boy? Chuck and Blair are meant to be, just like Serena and Dan! That's my opinion for now, it can change within a few weeks! :)
